The tugboat Mrs. Dorothy was assigned to a project aimed at supporting tanker loading and unloading maneuvers in an important oil terminal in the country. For this, the vessel had to be adapted. Astivik, in addition to carrying out drydock works, installed a FIFI system with a pump powered by one of the main machines; it was necessary to build a sea chest by modifying the hull and the piping of the tugboat.
A crane was installed, which required deck reinforcement, installation of a hydraulic power pack as well as an electric system. This project also included the installation of a winch and roller astern, as well as the installation of a CATHELCO cathodic protection system. Docking works included painting of underwater section, topside and superstructure, maintenance of valves and chains, disassembly and assembly of SCHOTTEL azimuthal propellers, including revamp of seal boxes and system flushing works. The project was executed in 70 days and the client was able to deliver the vessel on time for contractual duties.
