Naviera 113 and Naviera 112

Naviera 113 and Naviera 112

As of 2014, a regulation was issued in Colombia which compels that all companies transporting fuel liquids across Colombian rivers and seas had to implement double-hull vessels, the regulation was to be enforced gradually. The company Naviera Fluvial Colombiana, one of the largest and oldest in the country, chose us to convert and revamp two of their vessels simultaneously. The project was carried out in 120 days including the general maintenance of the barges on the dock;

on each barge, 98 tons of steel were installed for construction of the double hull and 10 tons of steel for the repair of affected areas. This project was completed two months ahead of schedule and well below its initial budget compared to a shipyard in the area that transformed two other barges. Astivik is currently the shipyard that has converted the biggest number of double hulls in Colombia, not only for Colombian companies but also for several vessels that have been subject to conversion in Panama.
